_ Publishing with Argument & Critique
Argument and Critique is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access, international journal. Our articles aim to stimulate debate and critical thinking around controversial topics. We welcome submissions at any time from academics, campaigners, service providers and service users. We are interested in research papers, creative pieces and writings that focus on social reform in policy and practice. We are particularly interested in receiving submissions that contribute to the Libertarian agenda.
Our rigorous peer review process provides very detailed, constructive feedback on manuscripts. We aim to have a decision on the manuscript within one month. Our peer review process is fully open and transparent so you will know the criteria against which the manuscript is assessed. You will also know the identity of your reviewers and they will know your identity.
We aim to support you through the submission and publishing process, offering constructive feedback to assist you to produce papers that are powerful and impactful, commanding the attention of a worldwide audience. We are open access, so that you are able to reach a wide and diverse range of people who share your areas of interest.
Brief Notes to contributors
Manuscripts should:
· Be no longer than 8000 words in length.
· Be saved in Microsoft Word format.
· Be written in a clear, accessible style.
· Use the Harvard system of referencing.
· Be written to a knowledgeable, but not exclusively academic audience.
· Be in single line spacing.
· Use font Times New Roman, size 12.
· Not use in- built ‘styles’.
· Be proof read for spelling, punctuation and grammar, prior to submission.
Title Sheet
All manuscripts should be accompanied by a title sheet that includes:
• Title of paper.
• Full name(s) of the author(s).
• The name of the institute(s) or organisation(s).
• Author(s)’ email, telephone and web page.
• Word count.
• An abstract of 150 to 200 words, at least 5 key words
• A biographical note of 25-50 words.
• A statement confirming that anyone who has assisted in the preparation of the manuscript has been appropriately acknowledged.
• A statement about any possible conflicts of interest.
• The following stipulation:
The manuscript has not been published elsewhere, publishing it would not breach copyright and that subject to successful review, the author(s) will allow Argument and Critique to publish the manuscript.
N.B. Manuscripts which do not include this cannot be accepted for review.

Articles in Argument & Critique, are published under a Creative Commons license. Whilst simultaneously being shared with Argument & Critique, copyright in the articles, their metadata, and supplementary data is retained by the author(s). For further information please see:

Submission policy
Unlike most journals, we do not require exclusive submission to Argument & Critique. However, by submitting your manuscript to our journal, you stipulate that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere, that our publishing it would not breach copyright and that you will allow us to publish the manuscript, should we wish to do so.

Please download the attached guidance. The guidance is meant to assist authors to prepare their manuscripts by transparently outlining the criteria against which manuscripts will be assessed. Please note though, that considerable leeway will be applied to more creative forms of writing.
